Disney Offers New Allergy-Friendly Snack Options at Parks & Resorts

Disneyland is still one of my favorite places to be. Even the sunsets are magical.

The happiest place on Earth just got a little happier this week as Disney introduced a new line of “better for you” snack options for their parks and resorts. Before this, as much as I love visiting Disneyland, being surrounded by deliciously not-on-the-diet-plan food, was a test in willpower and more often than not, ended up as a cheat meal day (or three). I mean, who can say no to the yummy sugary smells of a warm, soft churro? Or the salty goodness of a giant turkey leg? Or a huge ice cream cone from Main Street? Or a corn dog or a sourdough bread bowl? (Alright, you get my point).

In the past, if you wanted to try and stay on the healthier side of food at Disneyland, your options were pretty sparse – some carrots with ranch dressing to dip them in and some fresh fruit. Neither exciting nor particularly good for you.

Yesterday, on Disney’s blog, the new “Snacks with Character” was announced which will debut at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Aulani Resort and Disney Cruise Lines later this year. Partnering with Ocean Spray, Enjoy Life Foods, Way Better Snacks and WOW Baking Company, Disney’s new snacks will address various dietary needs. The eleven new items will have Gluten-free, nut-free, and other allergy-friendly options.

It’s a step in the right direction. Now, here’s hoping they work on some of their dining options and maybe a healthy churro option (hey, a girl can dream can’t she?)
